As the second week of our Easter course commenced, we knew it would be a difficult task to follow in the path of the previous week. But once again, the brilliant weather was accompanied with a superb group of children who highlighted exactly what it should be like to play youth football. Lots of touches of the football, in an environment where you can make your own decisions, socialise with new people and enjoy playing the beautiful game.
And our 4 award earners set the perfect example for the rest to follow. Decided by the coaches and players, the Player of the Week awards this week went to Andi, Freddie and Cavan. All three of these players made a great impression on their teammates with their hard work ethic, as well as their constant fun persona, where they always have a smile on their face. They set an example for the rest of their group to follow.
Our Top Funster award went to a player who has been a regular on the course for a number of years. And when the coaches realised that he had never scooped this award, we couldn’t believe it! Because he is such a role model, who exhibits such hard working, well mannered, superbly behaved attributes as a player and a person that we just expect that from him on every course. Really, he could win this award on every course, so this has been a long time coming and so thoroughly deserved. Well done Johnny Bristow, we have now run out of superlatives to describe you!
Again, it was incredibly difficult to decide who earned the awards this week with so much competition. But thank you to everyone for attending and making the course such an enjoyable one!
