Thought for the week:
The only way to guarantee that you will never lose, is by not playing; But by not playing, you can never WIN!!
When taking to the football field, you will always run the risk of losing. And when you lose, you should feel disappointed but you should also have a desire to play again and succeed. So when players come off the field crying and refusing to play, we remind them; if you never want to lose, then don’t play, but by not playing, you will never experience that great feeling of scoring a goal or making that great tackle. That’s why our emphasis is on participation. Take part and you will always have a chance.
And our Player of the Week’s can all be seen as players who are just happy to play. At the start of the week, young Sam was unsure about participating but as the week went on he began to become more confident in participating and was a worthy earner of the award. Lewis could win the Player of the Week award every week because of his superb attitude. Always listening, helping and never complaining means he is also a worthy winner and was recognised by fellow players in earning the award. Jacob is a role model to the rest of the group. Not just a good footballer, but a nice human being who is the ideal student.
Our Top Funster this week is another who could win the award every week. Milo’s attitude stands out above the rest, because he is kind and helpful. He is competitive on the field but if he commits a foul, he will be the first to apologise and help the fouled player back to his feet.
In truth, there were many players who could have won the main awards this week. It was a very enjoyable week and a fitting way to end the course. And on that note, a final thank you to everyone who has made the 2014 FFF summer courses possible: Ray, the coaches and everyone who played throughout the six weeks, thank you and see you soon!
