How much? £7.00 per session (Paid in monthly block) Our new Futsal For Football For Fun session will be run in association with Russell Goldstein, former FFF member, currently playing for England Futsal Team *Please note that Russell's availability will depend on his England Futsal commitments. Football For Fun coaches will deliver the sessions in his absence. How did Futsal help improve my football game? After starting my football journey at Football For Fun (FFF) aged 4, I’ve decided to return and give back to the club which kicked start my journey in becoming at England International. I started playing Futsal at the age of 15 after playing football for 11 years at FFF. At FFF I learnt to play football in a relaxed playing environment. We would often train in small areas, having less time & space to hone our decision making skills. We were encouraged to gain an understanding of the game and play without fear. Hoofing and clearing was not an option, we had to play with purpose and keep possession of the ball, whilst trying to create an opportunity to score. The FFF environment prepared me well for Futsal. I understood the game. With continued practicing and playing opportunities, within 6 years, I was playing Futsal for England. Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided football game that originates from South America in the 1930s. How can Futsal help me to play FOOTBALL? There are many transferable skills. We will focus on; * Heavier ball with low bounce * Smaller playing area * Recognise and Understand Space & Time * More touches of the ball * Quicker decision making * Quick transitions from being in possession to out of possession * Being creative when going 1v1 * When to dribble & when to pass Many of the top world class footballers played Futsal in their youth and credit it with supporting their footballing development.
