After School 'Fun, Play' Sessions

The Redbridge Schools Soccer Initiative represents the best in what Football For Fun can offer. A co-ordinated strategy involving a range of interested parties, the Initiative has been heralded as an example of innovation and best practice.
The concept brings quality soccer coaching to young boys and girls within curriculum time and reinforces the coaching with a regular schools soccer tournament and after school Fun, Play coaching clubs
UNTAPPED POTENTIAL
School children have a vast appetite for sporting activity. However, due to insufficient resources or facilities, many schools in Redbridge were unable to provide the level of recreation they desired.
Recognising this untapped potential, the scheme was developed to bring together children and schools with a desire to play with coaches and administrators who had the expertise to help.
MAKING IT HAPPEN
Sponsorship allowed the scheme to go ahead, initially in four schools in the Ilford and Barking area. Our last tournament, The Redbridge Cup involved 16 schools.
