Kyle a special tribute from Joe Aldridge

From the first time he stepped down at Football For Fun,

He was scared, he would cry, he wanted to run.

He would shy away from the coaches and run to his Dad,

Never did we think he would develop into one of the best we had.

Slowly he began to feel like Football For Fun was home,

Strolling down the steps letting everybody know.

Letting everybody know who Kyle Ashton was;

A happy, athletic, enthusiastic six year old boy,

Playing football, making friends and bringing joy.

Rarely a tear but always a smile,

To sum him up, that was just Kyle.

I will never forget the times he would sing,

Or say Ray’s van could fly with its special wing.

The numerous times he would ask for us to tie his laces,

It’s surprising how a boy can create so many happy faces.

Kyle, to think that you won’t grace us again,

Brings to all the coaches tears and pain.

For you created many a joyful moment,

And proved a very difficult opponent.

You’ve developed into a dashing young man,

And in the process we’ve become you’re biggest fan.

Kyle Ashton, thank you for the memories. You will be sorely missed and never forgotten.
