Thought for the week: ‘You work hard to get good, you work harder to get better.’
After five weeks and in a flash, the summer course is over and the school term gets ready to start. Over the holiday break, we’ve had surprisingly good weather, forgetting the odd rain shower. We’ve had good behaviour which is what makes the course so enjoyable and we’ve seen some great football, from players with different levels of football experience and of all abilities and ages. And the main reasons for most people’s participation: Firstly, to have fun but also to improve. As Ray says; ‘Football: Play to Learn, Learn to Play.’
And our Top Funster and Player of the Week awards highlighted the point of improvement. Kyle Ashton has been a regular to FFF for a couple of years now and despite only being six years old, showed how much he has improved. This summer, his tantrum attitude of the past has now disappeared and his technical ability has come on leaps and bounds. He is always smiling and is the type of person who will become friends with anyone. He is a hard worker, wanting to improve.
And that’s the same for our Player of the Week winners too. Harrison Thomas, Reggie Smith and Kaidan Chambers all worked hard during the week, and even in that short space of time showed that they had improved.
In fact, everyone has worked hard this summer, including the coaches, which leads me to a final thank you. And that is to everyone: The children of FFF but also the coaches and helpers. Ray, Bryan, Pete, Charlie, Connaire, Sam, Joel and Scott have all made this summer possible. Remember, even the coaches are here to improve their skills.
So well done to everyone who participated throughout the summer and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
